This page demonstrates my understanding of professional practice when creating a piece of media. As the DOP it is my job to get the footage designated to the 2nd Unit. Luckily this would consist of cutaway footage of items relative to the subject. Therefore most of the filming I do will not be heavy on laws or guidelines. However it is still good to have a knowledge of these laws and guidelines as I will have to
Ofcom Laws: We must be seen to be following all of Ofcom's laws concerning the filming of a documentary. These include the laws on filming of illegal events, the right to reply etc. Below I discuss these laws in relation to our film. The Fairness and Privacy: Contributors Act is relevant to us in a number of ways. "Programme contributors must be told the nature of the programme to which they are being invited to contribute." We must fully inform the subject of our intentions and gain written consent. | Ethics of the University: We must be seen to be following the ethics of the University in order for our film to not reflect badly on the University. Below I discuss these guidelines in relation to our film. |
