QR Codes

QR CODES stands for 'Quick Response code'. Trademark for a type of matrix barcode. This has become a very effective and powerful tool in marketing companies products. Companies have stated placing their own QR codes on their posters and other promotional synergy so that consumers can scan through their smart phones and access additional products and services. The attractiveness in incorporating he codes lie in the speed of its readability and its large storage space. A good example in using these codes for its speed is pictured on the right, the code is designed in the picture of the game and when it is scanned it takes the consumer directly to the download page, giving the consumer more purchasing power as they can buy the product as soon as they are enticed by the advert. We will be creating our own code to place on our posters to allow access more in our project (behind the scenes, stills, fun facts).

Twitter

Twitter is increasingly becoming popular between the consumers and the producers as its the fastest way to update yourself online. Production companies have utilised this in the sense they can provide their followers with information about shows and products. For example I follow SkySportsNews and they always tweet about what programme is on and information about it and try to sell you the product and get you to watch it, they also tweet a lot about their feature SkyBet and update news and competitions involved with it. The more they tweet it the more publicity they get, the feature re-tweeting means that people who don't follow them can see their tweets if their friends re-tweet it, this expands their target audience and promote themselves with ease.

Our Twitter page is designed to update our followers on our filming schedules, new clients, production stills and videos and links to our projects.

Facebook

Facebook is the largest social networking site with now over 1 billion active users this is the best way to influence your target audience, I have like the ITV1 page and they constantly post links and videos about behind the scenes and special features of their shows not seen on TV. So it benefits the consumer to be a part of their Facebook page so they do not miss out on any special features their favourite shows may have . Our Facebook page is designed to upload all our work we have produced for clients, videos, posters, images we have created and it allows us to post updates to keep our followers informed of all activities. We can utilise this to promote our documentary and spread awareness.
