Photo Essay Idea One
The first idea that came to me was when I was asked to take part in a money raising climb of Mount Snowdon in Wales, joining me in the ascent would be some close friends of winch are still in the armed forces. The reason I believe this would be a good idea is because it will be a good representation of human determination and how in certain situations people will come together to help others. Looking at it from a technical point of view this is a very good opportunity to utilise the scenery and capture some iconic pictures.
As i have a lot of close friends in the armed forces this is a subject that is close to my heart and believe this will help me with how I am going to represent the climb of Mount Snowdon.
The idea for my photo essay came about because of a few reasons, firstly my original idea fell through due to the lack of participation of others on the hike up Mount Snowdon in Wales. However due to the anniversary of my Grandfather and a new headstone being placed on his grave I wanted to explore how certain places leave there gravestones and are neglected and in some cases completely forgotten. I managed to find a small church with a graveyard next to it just out of Winchester and the state of some of the gravestones where in a very bad way. Somewhere broken, covered in holly and completely overgrown and others where just poorly kept in general, for example they where covered in leaves, dead flowers and moss. I wanted to explore this through the photographs I have taken and I believe it is almost disrespectful to the loved ones in these graves and I think they should be kept up in a way as almost to show them off and celebrate their lives.
