Welcome to Toby's technical practice page! Here you can find some training shots I took of some foreign currency notes portraying a use of extreme depth of field. These pictures weren't taken to display anything particular or provide a message, but to demonstrate control of D.O.F and F numbers.

Here, I display some of my After Effects project files. The first picture demonstrates the way I structure my layers to provide a more efficient work flow. For example any layers that are Null Objects which may be holding camera track information should go at the bottom and be turned invisible, because after all they are simply only adding a code which After Effects uses as a reference, they are not visible in your composite, so hide them at the bottom and clean up your interface. Also, I structure my layers with all colour correction Adjustment layers towards the top because otherwise you end up having so much colour correction added to each of your layers individually, which in turn slows down After Effects because it is trying to process all of this information at once. So by structuring your layers smoothly, you present better options to work with.

Here are two shots of the November skies and I intend to use them in my projects as "Sky Replacement Mattes." These pictures proved actually slightly difficult to take because the sky has different bright and dark points, so programming the camera to ingest this information about the bright areas and then control the aperture to let the correct amount of light in to provide a decent picture proved difficult. The shot with the sunset was tricky. The winter sun is so low, so I had a huge amount of glare to try and reduce.
