Photojournalism

Deceive Moment - Are event Driven photos, taken in a instant to capture that moment of reality. With out thought or reason behind. It is a quick snap shot with no agenda. This was something magnum founder Henri-Cartier Bresson was known to do with his photography. He believed that photography shouldn't haver a agenda, so the photos he took never had any political meaning behind it. Another theory of his is that photos should just be a snapshot, a quick look into the life's of strangers so nothing should be staged and he thought that people should be caught in the moment and so by looking at the camera they react for the camera so he made sure not to take photos of people noticing the camera. His style of photography is of a pure observational nature.

Martin Parr Martin Parr took a reflexive approach to his photography, He used everyday situations to create symbolic constructs. To show a different representation of the world  that we live in. He would take photos of other people taking photos of groups. he would try to take photos of things people don't often think about and often don't experience. There was debate wether Martin Parr should be a member of the legendary agency magnum, this is because his photos don't match with the reputation that the agency had built up. Magnum is known for capturing griping photos of crises around the world including famine and war. Martin Par said "Magnum photographers were meant to go out as a crusade ... to places like famine and war and ... I went out and went round the corner to the local supermarket because this to me is the front line."

Don McCullin - Possibly one of the best in regards to war photography with his work being internationally recognised. The shell shocked soldier is one of the most haunting and recognised photos of war and was one of the main images to come out of the conflict in Vietnam. Sadly he now a recluse after the experience of war but he thought that being a "medium" and capturing the reality of war was one of the greatest achievement for a photojournalist. However this has its costs on the individual. I personally think being a photojournalist and doing what he did could make some one disconnected to the real world and maybe make the individual question the morality of people in a whole. Especially after seeing men woman and children being slaughtered by the supposed good guys.
